Merry Christmas Eve, Judah!

Sean and I have been reading about Ethiopia.  We have learned many interesting things, such as Christmas is tomorrow, January 7th.  Believe it or not, I STILL have decorations out.  Kinda dragging my feet...I guess it makes me remember that my little Judah-man is about to celebrate Christmas and I feel more connected to him.  I don't know what it's like living in an orphanage.  I am praying earnestly that someone, a local missionary perhaps, would stop by this weekend and deliver not presents (only) but the message of hope found in Jesus Christ!  We will not be able to verbally communicate with Judah those first several months he comes home with us.  I want so much for him to hear about God's gift in his own language!

One of the books we bought is "Our First Amharic Words."  I have been having dreams about Judah calling me something other than "mommy" or "mother."  "Enat" is the Amharic word for mother.  This brings a smile to my face!  (of course, I can't seem to make sense of the pronunciation guide to try to say "enat!")

I recently had an ultrasound and we have seen our little baby!  I have been wrong (not many times in my life, mind you) and we are not having a girl but a sweet little boy, John Michael!  I envision Judah and John Michael spending many hours together, playing!  Their room is a Jungle theme.  I just can't help myself.  When I think of Judah, immediately the Lion of Judah comes to mind.  I am already planning on bringing him a stuffed lion on our first trip to Ethiopia - I hope he likes it!!  The Lion of Judah is a very important symbol to Ethiopians - perfect, I say!
